Master of Professional Accounting

Master of Professional Accounting at UWA provides an opportunity for graduates to obtain a qualification that is recognised by professional accounting bodies and the wider business community. 

Graduates who hold an undergraduate degree in Accounting should seek advice from the Business School before applying for this course.

The unit is based on the analysis and evaluation of business problems. These may include accounting and finance issues, ethics, corporate governance, corporate social responsibility and sustainability reporting.

The UWA Centre for English Language Teaching offers two ways, or pathways, to improve English language proficiency to the level required by the University for entry into its undergraduate and postgraduate studies.

Academic background and requirement

To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have—

  • A Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent qualification*, as recognised by UWA; and either:
  • The equivalent of a UWA weighted average mark of at least 50 per cent;
    or
  • At least two years of professional experience in a relevant occupation; or
  • Completed a Graduate Certificate in Commerce at UWA.

*Applicants who have a Bachelor's Degree with a major in accounting, or an equivalent qualification, are not eligible for admission.
