The Master of Physics course at UWA is about understanding the world at its most fundamental level.
The knowledge generated through the study of physics is also the driving force behind most new technologies, from radars to lasers, from transistors to quantum computers, and from electron microscopes to advanced medical imaging scanners.
In addition to the fundamental physics courses, you’ll be trained in world-class laboratories which are developing quantum measurement techniques for precision measurement to probe fundamental questions about the universe, test theoretical predictions, discover new phenomena, as well as solving practical technical challenges.
As well as broadening students' experimental skills, they will gain the skills to utilise advanced data analysis techniques and computer modelling.
Facilities include three national ARC Centres of Excellence:
Gravitational Wave Discovery (OzGrav), Engineered Quantum Systems (EQUS) and Dark Matter Particle Physics (CDMPP), as well as superb laboratories for cold atoms, TeraHz and Spintronics.
