This program is modeled after the Level 1 and 2 Trade School portions of the Ontario Electrician Apprenticeship. It includes practical, hands-on experience and in-class theoretical learning. You will gain knowledge in the design, installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of typical electrical circuits, all the way up to complex electrical machinery.
You will also apply electrical safety code and print reading knowledge to residential, commercial and industrial installations. In addition, you will be introduced to AutoCAD Electrical, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), power electronics, and Instrumentation.

As a result of the widespread suspension of IELTS and other testing platforms during the COVID 19 pandemic, Cambrian College will temporarily accept the Duolingo English Test, IELTS Indicator and the TOEFL-iBT® Special Home Edition to demonstrate English Proficiency.
Note: Those requiring English may take the college first-class English for Academic Purposes Program: EAPP program. Once you complete the program, you will be accepted into Cambrian College Diploma or certificate programs.
