Biological and pharmaceutical chemistry is a fascinating interdisciplinary area of growth, located at the interface of chemistry and biology, and bringing with it the opportunities to combine the powers of chemistry with exciting developments in biology. Through hands-on laboratory training, the major will provide you with a strong foundation in chemistry, especially synthetic and analytical chemistry, combined with biochemistry and microbiology. You will be given the opportunity to evolve in several directions, whether studying molecular modelling and drug design, the role and importance of transition metal systems in biological processes or the principles and methods related to the production of pharmaceuticals.
