Honours Bachelor of Science in Chemical Physics - Optional Co-op

For the benefit of hybrid learning, physics and chemistry are combined in this major, which includes classes in such areas as materials science and the quantum mechanical basis of molecular structure. Working in the laboratory with state-of the- art equipment, you will acquire the skills and knowledge of a variety of techniques, including x-ray diffraction and nuclear magnetic resonance.

Blend areas of physics and chemistry to explore molecular systems, foster a broad skill-set with courses such as Thermodynamics and Kinetics, and Atomic and Molecular Physics. Employ advanced techniques, including thin film preparation and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Access some of the world’s most respected scientists, and a variety of possible careers in industry, government or academia.

Also available in co-op.

The Co-op program in Chemical Physics is a five year program, including five work terms. Students must complete a Fall, Winter and Summer work term.

Note: A minimum of four Co-op work terms including a Summer, Fall, and Winter are necessary to complete the Co-op requirement. *A fifth Co-op work term is optional and if completed, the total number of credits will equal 22.50.
