If you want to be part of this transformation, the Master of Information Technology (MIT) at Southern Cross University places you at the cutting edge. 

You'll experience innovative learning with industry-led projects at the University’s Digital Enterprise Lab, including digital health, digital tourism and smart cities. 

You will master cutting-edge technologies in artificial intelligence, virtual/augmented reality and the Internet of Things with advanced coursework and real-world applications.

The course is designed for both IT and non-IT professionals. 

With core units in data science, cyber security, software development and user experience, you can tailor your studies with advanced specialist units. 

As a graduate, you are well-prepared for senior and leadership roles in all businesses and organisations, from the private and public sectors. 

Professional placement:

As part of this course, students may choose to undertake a 150-hour internship (equivalent to one unit) in either a paid or unpaid position. 

This practical experience, combined with theoretical understanding, enhances the learning experience for students.

English for Academic Purposes (EAP) prepares students for study at Southern Cross University. 

The length of EAP studies will depend on a student’s English language level at application. 

Successful completion of EAP provides direct entry to a range of Southern Cross University degrees. 

Your EAP level will be selected based on your level of English language skills during your application.

  • EAP1 - Entry to courses with Academic IELTS 5.5 and 6.0 (CEFR B2)
  • EAP2 - Entry to courses with Academic IELTS 6.5 (CEFR B2+)
  • EAP3 - Entry to courses with Academic IELTS 7.0 (CEFR C1)

Entry Requirements:

English language of Academic IELTS 3.0 to 6.5 or equivalent. 

Duration 5 to 50 weeks. The length of EAP studies will depend on a student’s English language level at application.


Academic background and requirement

  1. Completed a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related discipline; or
  2. Completed a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised Australian tertiary institution, with at least a 55% (Pass) average; or
  3. Equivalent professional experience.
