This degree at Griffith University will lead you to a career in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or nutraceutical industries.
You will learn through hands-on experience in state-of-the-art facilities (formulation, pharmacology and analytical laboratories) and during professional practice placements at the new Gold Coast University Hospital and other clinical settings.
You will take specialist courses in pharmacy management, complementary and alternative medicine, and pharmacology.
Work-integrated learning activities (professional placements) integrate theoretical learning with its application in the workplace.
The inclusion of work-integrated learning activities in the degree program demonstrates Griffith's commitment to preparing its graduates for success in their working life.
In Year 3, you must undertake unpaid placements, which occasionally require full-time attendance at a pharmaceutical workplace.
Some placements may be outside the Gold Coast area. Opportunities for rural and international orders also exist—total work placement (hours): 145.
