If you are keen to work as a psychologist, this degree at Griffith will give you a thorough grounding in clinical, developmental, biological, cognitive, social and organisational psychology.
You will learn to use interpersonal skills and counselling principles to help people with personal, health, vocational and social difficulties.
You will also learn to apply psychological theories to thinking, perceiving, motivation, stress, health, and criminal activity.
In the fourth year, you will begin formal research training and be introduced to professional psychological practice.
You will complete an honours research project and study four core courses.
You will need to achieve the required level of academic performance in the earlier years of the degree to be eligible for the fourth year of study.
You will have the opportunity to put your academic studies into practice through a professional practice placement.
Work-integrated learning activities (professional placements) integrate theoretical learning with its application in the workplace.
The inclusion of work-integrated learning activities in the degree program demonstrates Griffith's commitment to preparing its graduates for success in their working life.
In this program, you will spend time in the work/professional environment undertaking placements at various locations.
Placements may be outside the Brisbane metropolitan/Gold Coast area, including northern New South Wales and (by negotiation) interstate or overseas. Total work placement (hours): 40.

Post-secondary qualifications are required for entry into this program.

Qualification: GaoKao: Successful completion of the National College Entrance Examination (Gao Kao) with a minimum of 65% of the overall maximum score.
Qualification: Peoples Republic of China Senior Middle School Graduation Certificate
A grade average of 97 in the final year results OR successful completion of a recognised pre-tertiary or foundation program OR successful completion of one year of study at a recognised tertiary or higher education institution is required in addition to the completion of High School studies.
All India Senior School Certificate or Comparable Qualification (awarded by CBSE or CISCE): An overall grade average of 70% in the best four academic subjects
Qualification: Iranian High School Diploma (before 2019): Grade average of 13.5 in the final year results
