Master of Digital Transformation and Entrepreneurship - Technology, Innovation Management

Technology Innovation Management (TIM) is a unique master’s program to train aspiring entrepreneurs in creating wealth at the early stages of company or opportunity life cycles. 

The program focuses on the launch and growth of technology companies and growth-seeking initiatives of existing companies. 

The program benefits founders of new companies, people seeking more senior leadership roles at existing companies, and talented professionals building credentials and expertise for their next career move. 

The program at Carleton University offers a number of hands-on opportunities.

The TIM program offers four degrees in Technology Innovation Management, all offered jointly by the Sprott School of Business and the Faculty of Engineering and Design.

The Master of Digital Transformation & Entrepreneurship (MDTE) will develop leadership skills to lead digital transformation in organizations; learn new technologies such as blockchain, AI and IoT; and focus on inclusive digital solutions and cross-border business opportunities.

If your first language is not English, you can prove your language proficiency by:

  • presenting one of the official Language Proficiency (ESL) test scores as defined in the table;
  • showing that you have completed ESLA 1900 or ESLA 1905 at Carleton University with a final grade of B- or higher; or
  • present official certification (transcripts) that you have completed an undergraduate or graduate degree within the past three years in a university in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, or any country in which the primary language is English, where the language of instruction in the relevant educational institution was English, and the language of instruction in their most recently completed undergraduate or graduate degree was English.

Note: Letters from your universities stating the medium of instruction is English are not acceptable.


Academic background and requirement

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or science, with at least a B+ average.
  • Candidates are generally required to have two years of technical experience before admission.
  • Candidates applying for admission with degrees in other areas will be considered by the admissions committee. In addition, the committee is responsible for establishing criteria for degree equivalencies.
