Overview

Master of Engineering - Biomedical Engineering (COMP)

The Master of Engineering program in Biomedical Engineering is offered through four different departments at Carleton University: Computer Science, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Physics, and Systems and Computer Engineering.

َAlso, this program is offered through the Ottawa-Carleton Institute for Biomedical Engineering (OCIBME), a multi-disciplinary joint institute with the University of Ottawa.

The main objective is to enhance students’ abilities to solve medicine and biology problems by applying engineering principles using a combination of graduate coursework, directed and individual study, thesis research work, and various forms of oral and written presentations.

Collaborative specializations in Data Science and Bioinformatics are also available.

Concentration

  • Clinical Engineering (Systems Engineering)

Capital Advantage

Carleton offers modern, well-equipped laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment and excellent computer facilities.

The university’s location in the national capital allows for proximity to, and collaboration with, area hospitals, relevant government departments such as Health Canada, the National Research Council and, through OCIBME, access to resources and faculty at the University of Ottawa.
