Carleton University offers graduate students an intimate and collegial environment that fosters a comparative and interdisciplinary approach to French and francophone studies.
Students can focus on various specializations such as sociolinguistics or Caribbean literature, Acadian French or French-based creoles, Québécois literature (including New France) and contemporary French fiction, among other topics.
Collaborative specializations in African Studies and Digital Humanities are also available.
This program has two pathway options: Research Essay, Thesis.
Being situated in Ottawa offers students easy access to a number of bilingual institutions (including the NAC), from government departments on through to the headquarters of a number of key organizations and businesses.
