Master of Engineering (MEng) - Electrical and Computer Engineering, Robotics and Control

Electrical and Computer Engineering graduate students at Western University have access to outstanding research experiences and facilities across campus, including: 

Robarts Research Institute, the Canadian Surgical Technologies and Advanced Robotics (CSTAR) research centre, the Lawson Health Research Institute, the Department of Medical Biophysics, the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Nanofabrication Facility, and the Western Institute for Nanomaterials Science.

Graduate students also have access to Power Systems Real-Time Digital Simulator, a Real-Time Nuclear Power Plant Simulator, and several state-of-the-art industrial grades distributed control systems made possible through special industrial and government support.

Research focus areas include: 

  • Industrial robotics
  • Robotics theory (locomotion, coordination)
  • Autonomous systems for planetary exploration
  • Wearable and medical mechatronics
  • Robotically assisted surgery

In order to fulfil the requirements of the MEng Program in Robotics & Control, you have to successfully complete either 8 required courses & 2 non-technical courses OR 6 required courses, 2 non-technical courses & a research project.
