Overview

Honors Bachelor of Social Sciences - Economics

Ever wonder why some countries are richer than others or why income inequality has been growing in recent years? Why do some companies succeed while others fail? Should health care be provided by the government or by the private sector? Are tuition fees too high?

Economics can help answer all these questions. It provides you with a way to examine how individuals and society make choices in a world where resources are limited. It focuses on the production, distribution and consumption of goods and services.

Since making choices is central to all human activities, studying economics often helps explain why people and governments behave the way they do.

In fourth year, you can carry out an off-campus research project in the public or non-profit sector.
