Overview

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science

A global technological revolution is underway, and computer scientists are designing and implementing the computer systems that are the bedrock of the modern world.

The BScCS at the University of New Brunswick is a four-year degree program providing students with a solid foundation in core areas of computing recognized by the Canadian Information Processing Society.

The program prepares students for a wide variety of careers in traditional and emerging fields in computing.

Alongside core courses, a targeted range of elective courses is offered through which students have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in specific areas of computing or complementary disciplines.

Students may choose to specialize in one of the following disciplines: software engineering or computer networking.

Hands-on learning

  • UNB offers students the opportunity of job placement in local companies through the co-op office in the Faculty of Business.

Co-op education provides academic credit for structured job experience.

Students benefit from exposure to a workplace environment and immersion in technical teams in the industry.

  • Throughout their studies, students are also required to complete course projects, individually or in teams, using the programming skills they acquire in the early years.
