The Bachelor of Health Sciences (BHS) degree program at the University of New Brunswick is offered in conjunction with health science education partners.
While students may be initially admitted directly into this intended degree, subsequent admission to a competitive BHS major is required.
Admission to a major is based on acceptance by a Canadian Medical Association (CMA), or Council on Accreditation for Respiratory Therapy Education (CoARTE) accredited program.
Alternatively, applicants who have already completed an accredited and approved health science program and are qualified to practice (as recognized by the appropriate national and provincial bodies) can also apply for entry.
Application to partner programs occurs directly via the UNB Saint John Department of Nursing and Health Sciences.
As the application process is competitive, seats within partner programs are limited, and students who meet the minimum requirements are not guaranteed acceptance to a major.
Students who are unsuccessful at gaining admission to a partner program may remain BHS-designated while they plan for future applications.
However, students may be advised to consider alternative program options if they cannot gain admission to a partner program to declare a major.
In year two, students will select one of the following two majors:
Radiography, Respiratory Therapy

Cost of living | 1 person | $7,572 |
Accommodation | 1 bed room | $10,912 |

Here are the test score requirements for each level of the EAP program:
Note: Duolingo with a minimum overall score of 115
Students must complete six specific high school courses, according to their program of choice.
UNB takes the overall average of the high school grades achieved in these six courses to calculate the student’s "minimum admission average", which is used to determine admissibility.
For students who are taking required courses in the second semester of grade 12, and therefore don’t have access to their grades when they apply, the prerequisite course (usually grade 11) will be used to make a grade estimate for the grade 12 course required for admission to your selected program of study.
Please note that UNB does not accept 'mid-term' grades.
