Master of Science in Environmental Economics and Management

With the MScEEM (Master of Science in Environmental Economics and Management), you will learn the management practices and research skills required to balance economic demands with environmental sustainability. 

Prepare yourself to meet the needs of public and private organizations worldwide that seek managers who can build and support business models that balance the planet with profit.

As an MScEEM student at TRU, you will have the opportunity to complete a required graduate thesis or project. 

The thesis or project serves as a stepping stone to a PhD program. 

They're also a competitive advantage by providing you with the academic and applied research expertise, management skills and specialized knowledge you need to succeed in the emerging area of environmentally sustainable economics and management in the business sector.

Two years: Year 1: GDBA (Graduate Diploma in Business Administration), Year 2: MScEEM

  • On-campus, online or a combination
  • Full-time, however, some part-time study may be possible
  • Open to domestic and international students

If you already have a four-year business or commerce degree from an accepted institution, you may be able to move directly into year two of the program. 

A degree committee will assess your recent undergraduate or graduate course work in the area and decide if you are eligible for this option.

Academic background and requirement

  • An acceptable three or four-year undergraduate degree in any discipline with a minimum B average (GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.33 or local equivalent) in the last 60 credits.
  • Successful completion of each course in the GDBA with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 or receive a course waiver for some or all of the GDBA courses based on their previous academic record.
  • Applicants with a four-year business degree from an acceptable institution may be eligible to proceed directly into the one-year MEEM/MScEEM program.
