We've been saying that for decades, and we’ll keep saying it because computing technology keeps advancing.
You probably have what a few decades ago would have been called a super-computer sitting in your pocket right now.
The Master of Computer Science at The University of Melbourne will give you a broad base of high-level knowledge to keep up with these advances, with specialist skills in at least one area:
Knowledge systems, programming languages and distributed computing, information systems, mathematics/statistics, spatial information science or linguistics
All students will undertake a research project, working on a real-world computer science research question.

Qualified postgraduate and undergraduate applicants to the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology with the following English language results may be eligible for the pathway options:

Academic background and requirement
To be considered for entry, you must have completed:
- An undergraduate degree with a major in Computer Science or equivalent
- A weighted average mark of at least H2A* (75%) or equivalent
- At least 25 points of university-level mathematics or statistics subjects
