Overview

Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering) (Honours), Bachelor of Science (Chemistry)

This double degree will specialise in bio-systems engineering, chemical engineering or oil and gas.

You’ll explore the development, design and operation processes for materials extraction, conversion and recovery.

You’ll also develop the skills for a career in a modern analytical or industrial laboratory.

In the Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering), students examine the development, design, assessment and management processes for producing a wide range of materials.

It covers the theory and applications of thermodynamics, fluid flow, heat transfer, mass transfer and reaction engineering.

Building on this foundation, students explore process control, synthesis and design, process economics, risk management and safety, and research studies for general chemical processes.

Professional Chemists are essential to the operations of most manufacturing, processing, minerals and other industries.

They use sophisticated instruments for the analysis of raw materials and finished products.

The Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) provides students with a body of knowledge in chemistry and a range of skills necessary for a career in a modern analytical or industrial laboratory.

The combination of the two-degree programs provides graduates with enhanced abilities to work at the interface between the two disciplines in researching and developing new processes and improving existing industrial operations.
