If you want to develop the skills to assist decision-makers and support effective business process design, Deakin's Master of Business Analytics equips you to step up to this challenge.

The Master of Business Analytics gives you the skills to help organisations achieve their strategic objectives through analytics-based solutions. 

You will learn skills in demand in both the private and public sectors, where various industries are moving towards increasingly evidence-based decision practices.

The course has been developed in consultation with industry and course partners, including IBM, Microsoft, SAS, Altis Consulting, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, PBT Group and PwC.

Work experience

This course allows students to complete one or more elective work integrated learning units.

Research and research-related study

Research-related learning tasks are embedded across units where student achievement is demonstrated in specific assessment tasks.

Academic background and requirement

2 years full-time (or part-time equivalent) - 16 credit points

To be considered for admission to this degree (without admission credit applied), you will need to meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree or higher in any discipline

1.5 years full-time (or part-time equivalent) - 12 credit points

To be considered for admission to this degree (with 4 credit points of admission credit applied), you will need to meet at least one of the following criteria: 

  • completion of a bachelor's degree or higher in a related discipline
  • completion of a bachelor's degree or higher in any discipline and at least two years of relevant work experience (or part-time equivalent)

1 year full-time (or part-time equivalent) - 8 credit points

To be considered for admission to this degree (with 8 credit points of admission credit applied), you will need to meet at least one of the following criteria: 

  • completion of a bachelor's degree (honours) (AQF 8) or higher in a related discipline
  • completion of a bachelor's degree in a related discipline and at least two years of relevant work experience (or part-time equivalent)
  • completion of a graduate certificate or graduate diploma or higher in a related discipline

 

Related discipline degree: A 'related discipline' award for this course is a bachelor's degree in information systems, information technology, computer science, mathematics and/or statistics, or a bachelor's degree in any discipline with a specialisation (major/minor) in information systems/ information technology/ mathematics/ statistics.

Relevant work experience: Relevant work experience is professional work experience either in a business or IT-related role in any industry.
