Electronic and sports engineers work in the exciting, cutting-edge area of high technology in sport. 

This degree will give you the advanced core knowledge needed in electronics, specialising in sports technology. 

You will also develop skills in engineering leadership and research.

Most elite sporting bodies and institutes now employ a vast array of high technology training and monitoring techniques. 

This equipment is designed and maintained by engineers who also develop new methods of applying this technology for training and rehabilitation. 

This degree also incorporates the opportunity to undertake elective courses in your area of interest and a complete trimester research project.

Students who graduate from the program and pass the Dissertation component will have a pathway to a higher degree through the research study.

Academic background and requirement

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Electronic and Sports Engineering, an applicant must hold:

  • a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering or Sport Science (for example, Human Movement) or equivalent three years or four-year undergraduate degree from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equal standing) OR
  • a Bachelor Honours degree in Electronic Engineering or Sports Science (for example, Human Movement) or equivalent four-year undergraduate degree from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing).

 

Students admitted to the program with a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent three-year Engineering undergraduate degree) will be eligible for 40 credit points of advanced standing.

Students admitted to the program with a Bachelor Honours degree in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent four-year Engineering undergraduate degree) will be eligible for 80 credit points of advanced standing towards the program.

 

Study option

If you do not meet the academic entry criteria, you may be able to study the Masters Qualifying Program and qualify for entry into this Masters's degree.
