In this degree, you will gain a comprehensive education in the principles and practice of information technology. 

In Information Systems and Business Analysis part of this major, you will be prepared for a career working as a project manager, business analyst, change manager, data analyst or quality manager. 

You could find opportunities in large multinational organisations such as in the mining industry and government.

In the Enterprise Architecture part of this Major, you will be equipped for work as a business architect, information architect, enterprise information systems architect or enterprise solutions architect.

You will develop an in-depth understanding of the underlying technology, administration, and application of specific information technology and systems applications through your chosen major.

You will learn about information technology planning and management and Internet-based services in commerce, education, health, science, public administration, and many other disciplines. 

You will also learn to apply information technology to model, support, and manage modern, flexible organisations.

This degree is designed for students not completing a major.

Work-integrated learning

Students must complete a 20-credit point Work Integrated Learning (WIL) course in their final year.

Pathways to further study

Students who complete the dissertation component will have a pathway to Higher Degree Research (HDR) study.

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Information Technology, a student must hold:

• a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.5 on a 7-point scale or equivalent (students with a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology may be eligible for 40 credit points of advanced standing in place of listed IT foundation courses as determined by the Program Director)
• OR a Bachelor's degree in an unrelated discipline from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.5 on a 7-point scale or equivalent.
