Master of Professional Accounting

The UC Master of Professional Accounting course is the perfect study pathway for those looking for any one of the following outcomes:

  1. Those students who already hold an undergraduate degree in another field but considering exploring switching careers and becoming an accountant.
  2. Internationally educated accountants, looking to meet the minimum entry requirements for working in Australia as established by the CPA (Certified Practicing Accountant) Australia, and CAANZ (Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand).

Work Integrated Learning (WIL)

WIL is a vital component of the UC Master of Professional Accounting journey as it allows students to gain extensive practical experience working on real-world research projects, case studies, industry briefs, all while working alongside highly skilled and experienced industry mentors.  

In this highly focused, engaging and nurtured learning environment, UC students will be encouraged to develop work-ready technical accountancy skills and build their professional networks – thus building their confidence using a range of industry accounting packages, and ensuring graduates enter the workforce with a robust industry-based professional set connections already established.

The University of Canberra College (UCC) offers a number of Pathways programs to improve your English or study skills and help you gain entry into a UC degree. These include:

English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS) will improve your English language skills and can help you gain entry into a UC degree.
UC diplomas
International Foundation Program
Graduate Certificate in Academic Foundations and achieved at least 50% in the Academic Writing and Research Skills unit and at least 65% in your combined test and final exam scores.

You’ll satisfy the UC English language requirements for most undergraduate and postgraduate courses if you complete a Pathways program at UCC. The specific Pathways program you choose determines the UC courses you can move to once you’ve finished your UCC studies.

Academic background and requirement

Applicants must have a bachelor degree or equivalent as approved by the University. 

There are no work experience requirements. 

Students who have undertaken an undergraduate degree with a major in accounting with an Australian institution are ineligible for entry to the degree.
