On completion of this degree at UniSA, you will have advanced knowledge and understanding of current social issues, social work values and ethics.

Building on knowledge and skills already attained through previous study, you will explore topics such as:

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures
  • Child protection
  • Cross-cultural practice

A portion of this degree will include a practicum, with the remaining courses in social policy and social work theory. 

There is a major focus on leadership, innovation and research-driven practice.

Get practical experience and build pivotal networks with supervised local, rural and international work placements.

As part of your studies, you will complete 1,000 hours of work placement over two years.

The CELUSA Academic English (AE) program is for students looking to develop their skills to meet the English language admission requirements necessary for academic study at the University of South Australia.

CELUSA recommends an intense language course of at least 10 weeks will help develop the skills to lift your IELTS score by half a band score.

Academic background and requirement

Selection will be competitive and based on Grade Point Average.

Applicants holding a completed Australian bachelor's or master's level qualification in Social Work are not eligible for entry.
