Master of Engineering - Electrical and Renewable Energy Engineering

This degree at ECU is for those who have a non-professionally accredited engineering or technology degree and wish to upgrade to a professionally accredited engineering qualification or wish to branch out into another area of specialisation.

Designed for students interested in pursuing a career in the renewable energy or electrical power industry.

This specialisation is intended to provide graduates with strong competencies in the fundamental electrical engineering discipline areas with a complementary focus on the utilisation, generation, management and design of renewable energy resources.

Work Experience requirement

Students are required to complete (or have previously completed) a 12-week practicum under the supervision of an engineer in a relevant industry environment.

The Academic English Program (AEP) is designed for students who plan to study at an Australian university or who are interested in developing academic reading, writing, listening and communication skills. 

  • Taught in 10-week terms, with possible start dates every five weeks.
  • With a minimum of 65%, you will be able to graduate to the next AEP level or to your designated course.
  • No further English testing is required (except for Nursing and other higher English course requirements).
  • This program is taught on ECU’s Mount Lawley Campus.

Academic background and requirement

  • Bachelor's degree in a cognate discipline; or
  • Where accepted, equivalent prior learning, including at least five years relevant professional experience.

All applicants are required to have completed a Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology, with equivalents considered.

Alternatively, applicants can have completed the Bachelor of Engineering Science, with equivalents considered, successful applicants with an Engineers Australia accredited 4-year AQF level 8 Bachelor of Engineering Honours (or equivalent) may be eligible for a reduced course duration through the award of credit and recognition of prior learning.
