Overview

Bachelor of Science - Conservation Biology

Bachelor of Science course at ECU provides students with the opportunity to engage in high-quality studies across a range of science and mathematics disciplines.

Students specialise in a single major discipline aligned with their interests and aspirations and select a secondary minor area of study to broaden their skills and knowledge base.

Conservation Biology focuses on the knowledge and skills required for the study and management of biodiversity.

Students develop the ability to analyse complex interplays between humans and the natural world and devise approaches to important conservation issues.

Work Experience option

Students have the opportunity to seek a semester-long Work Integrated Learning placement with an industry partner relevant to the Science and Mathematics discipline.

Cross-Campus attendance

Students studying on the South West (Bunbury) campus can select a major in Conservation Biology or Environmental Management, and minors in Conservation Biology, Data Science or Environmental Management.

Units undertaken at the South West campus will be delivered as a series of lectures and weekly laboratory classes, supported by technology-enhanced learning and digital content.

There are also practicum weeks in which fieldwork activities are carried out.
