The Bachelor of Business (Honours) is a one-year postgraduate research programme for exceptional Bachelor of Business graduates.

Research a topic of your interest and further your knowledge of international business with the International Business specialisation in the Bachelor of Business (Honours).

With the Bachelor of Business (Honours) you can undertake research on a number of topics that contribute to the success of New Zealand businesses in world markets, as well as to the international body of business knowledge.

What you study

To graduate with a Bachelor of Business (Honours), you must complete 120 points from:

  • Specialisation courses
  • Research methods course(s)
  • A dissertation

Research (Honours) dissertation

This piece of supervised research contributes to the body of knowledge in your chosen business and economics discipline. You should consult your academic supervisor about your dissertation topic and proposed research.

Language courses at AUT International House:

AUT International House is an English language school next to the AUT City Campus. It is part of AUT and offers a range of qualifications, including GIE – the AUT university entrance and preparation programme.

On-campus academic English courses (GIE and IELTS Full-time) at International House:

1) GIE (academic preparation and university entrance programme)

The GIE programme prepares you for entry into most AUT programmes (some health and education programmes require IELTS).

Entry requirement:

IELTS 5.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in Reading and Writing and no less than 5.0 in Speaking and Listening

2) IELTS Full-time

Entry requirement:

There is a different entry requirement for each level of the IELTS course.

  • Level 1: you need IELTS 4.5 with a minimum band score of 4.0
  • Level 2: you need IELTS 5.5 with a minimum band score of 5.0

Academic background and requirement

Bachelor of Business with a B+ (75%-79%) grade average or higher in level 7 courses in the selected subject area, or equivalent

Admission to the BBus (Honours) is subject to approval by the Dean (or representative)
