Accounting is one of the eleven subjects you can study in the Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Auckland, often combined with Finance or another Business subject as a double major.
You can study Accounting as a single major or as a double major alongside one of the other majors offered within the Bachelor of Commerce - such as Finance, which is a popular choice.
You can also study towards the Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting as part of a conjoint degree programme.
(In a conjoint programme, you study for two degrees at once, attaining the qualification in a shorter time than it would take to complete the two programmes separately.)
In the Accounting major, you will learn about analysing and presenting financial statements that are used for business planning and decision-making.
In your third year, you’ll choose a capstone core course – select from an industry-based project, a business simulation, a live business case or an internship.
