You can study Environmental Physics as a major in the Bachelor of Science (BSc).

Environmental Physics is the study of the Earth and environment using physics and mathematics. It spans from the deep interior of the Earth to its surface, oceans and atmosphere. 

Researchers in this field aim to explain the physical phenomena we observe today to discover their past history and to model their future behaviour.

As a Environmental Physics student you’ll learn how to apply your knowledge of mathematics and physics to the study of the following topics:

  • The Foundation Certificate in English for Academic Purposes (FCertEAP), or
  • The English Pathway for Undergraduate Studies (EPUS).

To be eligible for FCertEAP, students must:

  • Hold a conditional offer of place from a New Zealand tertiary institution that recognises FCertEAP.

Academic background and requirement

Secondary school qualifications

India: You need to have one of the following:

  • 12 years of schooling and an overall average of 75 percent in the All-India Senior School Certificate (AISSC), Indian School Certificate (ISC), Karnataka, Maharashtra and West Bengal State Board Examinations with a minimum of 70 percent in English.
  • 12 years of schooling and an overall average of 80 percent in all other Higher Secondary State Board Examinations with a minimum of 75 percent in English.

China:

  • The National College Entrance Examination (NCEE) otherwise known as Gaokao. (Have a high school diploma or equivalent, Be in good health…) (Score required = 70%)

Tertiary qualifications

You can transfer from another tertiary institution if you meet these requirements.

  • You need to have the following: One year successful bachelor-degree level study at a recognised university (or smilar institution) overseas.
  • Grade required = GPE 3.0 (60-64%)
