The International Development Graduate Certificate Program prepares students for jobs in Canadian and international Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and UN agencies.
Some of Centennial's graduates also pursue a doctoral or master’s degree in a relevant field.
If you previously earned an advanced diploma or degree, you may be eligible to benefit from the unique courses in the three-semester college program.
Through a “human rights-based approach to development,” you'll examine the multiple dimensions of poverty, education for all, environmental protection, gender mainstreaming, Aboriginal people’s rights, and corporate social responsibility.
You will also gain knowledge and skills related to financial management, results-based management, and the participatory approach in project design, implementation and evaluation.
During their study, students can travel abroad to experience the dynamic of development in the field and further develop their areas of interest.
Students also participate in Canadian forums and events to improve their professional networks for future employment and to learn about Canada’s unique role and practices in the larger international development context.
After completing the program’s 19 courses, you can pursue a Co-op opportunity of 14 weeks in Canada or internationally.
