This program pathway is still offered at Red Deer Polytechnic through the new University Sciences diploma.
The Pre-Medicine program is the first two years of a Bachelor of Science program.
This program is designed to meet the admission requirements of the Doctor of Medicine programs at both University of Alberta and University of Calgary.
The Pre-Professional Medicine program is a minimum of two full years of post-secondary study with some institutions requiring students to complete an undergraduate degree prior to applying.
Most students will complete a 4 year Bachelor’s degree before gaining admission.
Competitive admission to professional programs requires a high-grade point average.
