Overview

Master of Engineering Science (Systems and Control)

The Master of Engineering Science at The University of New South Wales is for students with a recognised four-year Engineering Degree.

Recent updates and enhanced recognition of prior learning enable students to complete the degree between one to two years, depending on the selected specialisation, accreditation of undergraduate degree, previous study experience and/or relevant work experience.

As with all streams under the Master of Engineering Science, the Systems and Control specialisation is underpinned by the attainment of disciplinary and advanced disciplinary knowledge and the undertaking of an enquiry-based learning component.

Overlapping with Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, with the growth of automated systems, systems and control engineers are increasingly in demand.

The typical two-year program, sitting within the UNSW School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, comprises 16 courses and features complex, open-ended, enquiry-based projects as well as many other opportunities to help you become a leader in the field.

In addition, you will develop a systematic approach to solving problems, as well as core project planning skills and the ability to analyse, interpret and communicate results proficiently.

The completion of an enquiry-based project provides a pathway toward postgraduate research degrees.
