Program Highlights

  • Benefit from a combination of in-class instruction, computer labs, lectures and unpaid employment placements.
  • Develop new skills with the support of Learning Facilitators, Student Placement Support, Adaptive Technologist/Learning Skills Advisor and faculty.
  • Obtain job skills through experiential learning in highly individualized 70-hour unpaid employment placements within the community.

Career Pathways Lab

The lab is used to support students with homework support and to learn Assistive technologies. It is both a computer lab and a social space. The lab is not used as a classroom. Classes are held throughout the college.

English for Academic Purposes (EAP) at Mohawk is a series of 8 levels of 7-week courses designed to develop students’ language skills from pre-beginner to college level English. 18 – 24 hours of synchronous and asynchronous hours, varying by level. 

With six start dates, the EAP program accommodates students at different times throughout the year and is also for those who wish only a short-term period of academic language instruction.

 At the higher levels of EAP, students have the opportunity to earn two post-secondary credits toward their diploma program.


Academic background and requirement

  • The College uses a percentage grading system of 1 to 100%, and the course passing grade for most courses is 50%. Promotion to the next semester requires a weighted grade point average of 60% subject to the rules outlined in the Program Promotion and Graduation Requirements Policy PDF.
