Professional experience
A requirement of the degree is a Community Engagement unit where students engage in voluntary work within a not-for-profit organisation over a period of 35-70 hours.
All students will undertake work integrated learning and industry-driven projects throughout their IT degree and Business Administration degree.
The Work Integrated Learning (WIL) programs give you essential job-ready skills and experiences throughout your degree.
We have embedded employability into your degree with the ‘Future Ready’ program, where we build on your professional skills each year, supporting you every step of the way.
In addition, through the engagement placement, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the contributions of social enterprises with 35-70 hours of volunteering with a not-for-profit organisation.
Then with your Work Integrated Learning (WIL) unit, you’ll bridge the gap between academic studies and the real world of work by completing up to 150 hours of learning activities.
It allows you to apply your academic learning in a ‘real-life’ environment provided by an industry partner or a University organisation working on a real project.
WIL strengthens your essential job-ready skills and experiences and allows you to learn about workplace culture, prepare for the future world of work, develop professional networks and build your employability skills.
WIL may be conducted on or off campus, face-to-face or online, and paid or unpaid. Each student is jointly supervised by an academic supervisor and a placement supervisor.

English for Academic Purposes (EAP) focuses on developing your English language proficiency and approach to academic study to help you complete university-level courses.
At the same time, it allows you to become familiar with campus life and the resources and services available to you.
These courses range in duration from 5 to 30 weeks and are available at the Brisbane, Melbourne and North Sydney campuses.
0.5 IELTS band below the required level for ACU pathway or degree programs 10 weeks
1.0 IELTS band below the required level for ACU pathway or degree programs 20 weeks
1.5 IELTS band below the required level for ACU pathway or degree programs 30 weeks
Upon completing EAP, students will meet the English language requirement of most ACU Diploma courses, undergraduate degrees and postgraduate programs.
You’ll need an Australian Year 12 Certificate equivalent if you're an international applicant.
