Master of Music in Music - Composition

Students in the M.Mus. program develop their own individual voices through private instruction with some of Canada’s most accomplished composers, all of whom have distinguished themselves through high-profile commissions, performances, recordings, and awards. 

The faculty members' diverse interests at McGill University ensure that students will find a suitable mentor/supervisor.

Academic background and requirement

  • A bachelor's degree in Music Composition, or its equivalent, from a university recognized by McGill.
  • A cumulative grade point average (CGPA) should be 3.0 out of a possible 4.0, or your grade point average (GPA) should be 3.2 out of 4.0 in your last two years of full-time studies.
