Overview

Bachelor of Fine Arts - Cinema & Media Arts - Screenwriting (Honours)

Gain intensive training in developing, pitching, and bringing stories for film, TV, and new media to life in one of Canada's only undergraduate screenwriting degrees.

Collaborate with students across artistic disciplines and test your projects in front of live audiences through the AMPD screenwriting film festival and competition opportunities.

Students in the Cinema and Media Arts - Screenwriting (BFA) program at York experientially learn to understand, think and work in the language of the moving image across all media.

The integrated curriculum offers exceptional training across the spectrum from idea to screenplay, camera to screen, and screen to critical inquiry.

With intimate support, intensive learning, and extensive mentorship by internationally recognized faculty members, students focus on creating screenwriting portfolios of numerous short screenplays, feature screenplays, television series, and new media.

Collaboration is paramount as students collaborate with production students to see their work brought to life on screen.
