The UQ Foundation Program is designed to enable international students to meet the minimum entry requirements for their preferred UQ undergraduate program.Three options are available in the Foundation Program: Extended, Standard and Accelerated.
The most suitable program for you will depend on your previous study and your English proficiency. You need to achieve certain grades and a specified Grade Point Average in your Foundation Program to be eligible for entry to a UQ program*.
Students will be eligible for entry into university in the semester following graduation from the Foundation Program. Please note that entry into some undergraduate programs is only available in Semester One.

If you haven’t met the English language entry requirement for the Foundation Program, you may be eligible for a package that combines English language study with the Foundation Program.
English for Academic Purposes II: IELTS: 5.5 (no sub-score less than 5)
English for Academic Purposes I: IELTS: 5.0 (no sub-score less than 4.5)
General English 4: IELTS: 4.5 (no sub-score less than 4)
General English 3: IELTS: 4.0 (no sub-score less than 4)
Canada: Grade 11 ‑ 70% & above (4 academic subjects) ENGLISH ‑ 70% and above
China: Senior 2 ‑ 80% & above (4 academic subjects) IELTS 5.5; No band less than 5.0
Pakistan: Completion of Higher Secondary with C or 70% and above (4 academic subjects) IELTS 5.5; No band less than 5.0
