Diploma of Commerce (Hotel Management, Tourism and Hospitality, and Event and Management Stream)

The Diploma of Commerce (Year 1) at Edith Cowan College provides you with an overall perspective of business processes and foundational business skills. 

Student must complete the following 8 units

Workplace Communication - Employability, Introductory Computing, Project Management, Introductory Mathematics, Communication Skills, Introductory Accounting, Introductory Marketing, and Year 1 Elective.

 

The Diploma of Commerce (Year 2) provides you with an overall perspective of business processes and fundamental business skills. 

The units you will study should be selected from the area in which you plan to specialize for your degree.

Students who complete the ECC Diploma of Commerce (Year 2) will receive up to 8 units (120 credit points) of advanced standing (the equivalent of the first year), in the respective Bachelor's degree at ECU. 

A minimum of 50 percent pass in all units is required for progression to ECU.

Student must complete the following 8 units

Foundations of Business, Introduction to Business Analytics, Accounting, Business Identity and Protocols, Business Environments and Markets, Economics, Professional and Academic Communication, and 1 elective according to your intended major.

Academic requirements for Foundation and Diploma (year 1) by country:

  • India:  Not applicable
  • China: Senior Middle 2 (Gao Er) with a minimum average of 50%
  • Iran: Completion of High School Diploma or Peeshdaneshgahe

 

Academic requirements for Diploma (year 2) by country: 

  • India:  Higher Secondary Certificate (10+2) with a minimum average of 55%, or;

        Higher Secondary Certificate (10+2) with a minimum average of 60% not including humanities (from the Punjab region)

  • China: Senior Middle 3 (Gao San) with a minimum average of 70%
  • Iran: Completion of Peeshdaneshgahe

 

Foundation Program

Bridge the gap between high school studies and undergraduate studies so that you are prepared for university-level studies.

The ECC Foundation Program is equivalent to upper secondary school (Year 12) and university foundation programs. 

It aims to prepare international students for further study in an ECC Diploma or for entry into the first year of a selected Edith Cowan University bachelor’s degree.
