Overview

Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics

You will develop knowledge and skills to work as a dietitian and learn how to help improve the health of individuals and the community. 

You will learn through extensive hands-on experience in state-of-the-art facilities, including a purpose-built teaching kitchen and a nutrition clinic in the new Griffith Health Centre.

You will develop anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry skills before taking advanced study in human nutrition. 

In the final phase of your degree, you will complete a 20-week industry placement to put your skills into practice.

Work-integrated learning

Work-integrated learning activities (professional placements) integrate theoretical learning with its application in the workplace. 

The inclusion of work-integrated learning activities in the degree program demonstrates Griffith's commitment to preparing its graduates for success in their working life.

In this program, students will spend time in the work/professional environment undertaking placements at various locations. 

Placements may be outside the Brisbane metropolitan/Gold Coast area and (by negotiation) interstate or overseas.

Academic background and requirement

Completion of secondary school comparable to Australian Year 12 or equivalent academic achievement.

Prerequisites: -

Students who require a refresher or who have not done Year 12 Chemistry or Mathematical Methods are strongly recommended to undertake a bridging course prior to commencing this program.

Griffith College provides a direct entry pathway for this degree.

Qualification: GaoKao: Successful completion of the National College Entrance Examination (Gao Kao) with a minimum of 68% of the overall maximum score.

India:

All India Senior School Certificate or Comparable Qualification (awarded by CBSE or CISCE): An overall grade average of 77% in the best four academic subjects

Iran:

Qualification: Iran Pre-University Certificate or Iranian High School Diploma from 2019: Grade average of 15.4 in the last year's results
