Bachelor of Engineering - Biomedical Engineering

One of the fastest-growing disciplines within engineering, biomedical engineering, is advancing the healthcare industry and improving the lives of patients worldwide. 

You’ll learn to create new materials, devices, algorithms and processes that assist doctors and medical researchers with preventing, diagnosing and treating illnesses and conditions. 

The Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) program in biomedical engineering at Toronto Metropolitan University will prepare you for a career in the healthcare industry: 

Developing new medications; designing prosthetics, biomechanical implants and medical devices; or analyzing medical images through machine learning. 

You can gain valuable, paid work experience via the optional co-operative internship program

By your fourth and final year, you’ll leave here well-equipped to launch your career in a field such as implantable and wearable devices, biomaterials, medical imaging or pharmacology.

Academic background and requirement

China:

  • Senior High School (Upper Middle School) Graduation Diploma

  • Senior High School (Upper Middle School) Graduation examination results (Huikao)
  • Chinese National University Entrance Examinations (Gaokao)
  • Applicants who have not written, or do not intend on writing the Gaokao examination must submit a signed and dated letter providing the reason(s).

 

India:

  • Toronto Metropolitan University will accept the All India Senior School Certificate Examination (awarded by CBSE) or the Indian School Certificate (awarded by CISCE).
  • Students presenting Year 12 State Board Exams (Higher Secondary School Certificate; Intermediate Certificate) with high standing will also be considered for admission.
