Toronto Metropolitan University's Computer Science program is meeting the high demand for qualified candidates in various computer scientist roles.

This program stands out in its careful blending of academic theory and applied hands-on practice.

You’ll become fluent in several programming languages and learn about data structures, algorithms, machine learning, data science, networks and operating systems to drive the economy forward. 

You can also explore software engineering, computer vision, robotics, artificial intelligence, web-based development, human-computer interaction, computer graphics and virtual reality. 

You’ll have access to specialized applied research facilities and labs in the state-of-the-art George Vari Engineering and Computing Centre and can pursue an optional paid co-op and/or concentration in Software Engineering that will prepare you for your career.

Students of the regular, four-year program will graduate with an honours undergraduate degree. Here's a snapshot of the curriculum. 

1st & 2nd Year: Learn core basics of computer architecture, operating systems, software engineering and data structures. 

Become fluent in current programming languages. 

Build foundations in mathematics, problem solving and science.

3rd & 4th Year: Explore advanced concepts in robotics, cybersecurity, networks, algorithms and specializations in computer science, engineering, or mathematics.

• Typically, a minimum overall average of 70% establishes eligibility for admission consideration, subject to competition. Individual programs may require higher prerequisite grades and/or higher overall averages:
• English/anglais
• Advanced Functions
• One of Calculus and Vectors (preferred) or Mathematics of Data Management
• One of Physics, Chemistry, Biology
• Note: the minimum grade(s) required in the subject prerequisites (normally in the 65-70% range) will be determined subject to competition.

China:

• Senior High School (Upper Middle School) Graduation Diploma
• At least five Senior 3 academic courses (including prerequisite subjects)
• Senior High School (Upper Middle School) Graduation examination results (Huikao)
• Chinese National University Entrance Examinations (Gaokao)
• Applicants who have not written, or do not intend on writing the Gaokao examination must submit a signed and dated letter providing the reason(s).

India:

• Toronto Metropolitan University will accept the All India Senior School Certificate Examination (awarded by CBSE) or the Indian School Certificate (awarded by CISCE).
• Students presenting Year 12 State Board Exams (Higher Secondary School Certificate; Intermediate Certificate) with high standing will also be considered for admission.

Iran:

• High School Diploma after 12 years of study with high academic standing.
