Academic background and requirement

  • A bachelor’s degree from SFU or its equivalent from another recognized institution
  • A CGPA of at least 3.0/4.33 (B) or a grade point average of at least 3.33/4.33 (B+) based on the last 60 credits of undergraduate courses

The department strongly prefers that applicants to the MA program have a BA in political science

SFU suggests that students coming into the program have at least two years of background in political science

Some students with insufficient political science training may be required to take up to a year of qualifying work in the upper-division undergraduate courses in the department.
