Master of Environment

Equip yourself with the skills to tackle the big environmental problems facing contemporary and future society with the ANU Master of Environment.

Studying at one of the top 10 universities in the world for environmental sciences, you’ll be exposed to current perspectives on environmental issues and approaches, and will develop depth of knowledge in a selected disciplinary area.

You could choose to specialize in biodiversity conservation, climate science and policy, disaster studies, environmental policy, environmental studies and human ecology, geography, natural resource management, sustainability science or water science and management.

Completing a Master of Environment (Advanced), with a substantial research component can also qualify you to apply for entry to a PhD program.

Learning Outcomes

ANU College programs deliver pathways to ANU designed to help you successfully transition to undergraduate or postgraduate study. 

Academic English Preparation
Academic English Preparation (AEP) is a 10-week program focused on English reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. 

AEP is designed to equip international students with skills and knowledge needed to live and work in Australia, and to successfully transition to other courses at ANUC. 

To enrol in AEP, you must have an IELTS of 5.0 (minimum 4.5 in each band) or an overall TOEFL IBT of 40 with a minimum of 12 in writing. 

Once enrolled, you must achieve a score of 60 per cent or more to successfully complete AEP. No additional IELTS is required to progress to Foundation Studies or ANU Access. 
ANU Access
ANU Access is a 10-week intensive program with a strong focus on academic English. 

To be eligible for ANU Access, you must have an overall IELTS of 6.0 (with no band less than 5.5) or an overall TOEFL IBT of 68 with a minimum of 18 in writing

A range of other English language tests are also accepted. Once you successfully complete the program you can enter your degree at ANU.

Applicants must present a Bachelor degree or international equivalent with a minimum GPA of 5.0/7.0

Applicants with a Graduate Diploma or Bachelor degree with Honours in a cognate discipline may be eligible for up to 48 units (one year) of credit.
