Master of Engineering Management Master of Business Administration

The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology have developed this course. 

And the UTS Business School provides professional engineers with the advantages of a generalist Master of Business Administration alongside a focused program in engineering management. 

The course follows an integrated approach to professional practice through engineering management/professional engineering subjects, business administration subjects, and an independent project in engineering management.

The program allows students to complete the Master of Engineering Management and Master of Business Administration in two years of full-time study.

Students must complete 96 credit points, including 48 in engineering management and 48 in business administration. 

The project component consists of a preparatory subject and a project (in engineering management), which must be undertaken in successive sessions, typically the final two sessions of the course.

Academic background and requirement

It is a requirement that the bachelor's degree is in engineering and that one of the following conditions is met:

  • a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 out of 4 and less than 10 per cent fail grades, or
  • a Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) minimum overall score of 550, with verbal 25, quantitative 35 and AWA 4.0, or
  • a minimum of four years (full-time equivalent) of engineering-related work experience.
