This major is a challenging and flexible program that develops global managerial competencies for professionals with financial responsibility.
Its curriculum is aligned with the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Institute’s Candidate Body of Knowledge and can help you pass the CFA’s examinations successfully.
You’ll learn through in-class learning, guided independent research and team projects. You’ll focus on corporate finance, investments, international business, banking and financial modelling.
You’ll also have access to the Trading Room, a Curtin facility where you can access industry-standard software, international news services, live securities, and commodity prices at your fingertips.

Alternatively, suppose you’re seeking a more advanced qualification.
In that case, you should instead use the Master of Finance, tailored towards graduates with substantial knowledge and experience in the finance-related topic.
Towards the end of your course, you’ll complete a capstone experience.
Your capstone may include an internship, consultancy experience, research project or study tour, which will grow your network, business acumen, skill sets and industry setting knowledge.

Overseas applicants require a qualification recognized by tertiary admissions authorities in Australia and considered equivalent to the qualifications listed for entry to this course.
Note: If you have a bachelor's degree relevant to your chosen major, you may be exempt from studying the commerce core units and be able to complete this course after 1.5 years of full-time study.
If you have a relevant bachelor's degree, plus five years of relevant work experience, you may be able to complete this course after one year.
The Master Qualifying Program (MQP) is a one-semester non-award program designed for students who already have a tertiary qualification but do not qualify for direct entry into a Master’s degree at Curtin University.
