Master of Commerce

This degree is highly flexible in its design, allowing students to choose subjects from across a range of business disciplines. 

By completing this advanced degree, graduates are equipped with a solid base of skills and the specialized knowledge required to take their careers to the next level.

Students can complete a Master of Commerce through two years of full-time study, or even less if you're a business graduate. Online and flexible learning options are also available.

This degree comprises core and elective subjects. 

In addition to a compulsory business specialization, you will choose an additional specialization from a range of business disciplines, or up to seven electives, to suit your professional or personal goals.

A specialization comprises four subjects and may be selected from the following areas of business:

  • accounting
  • applied economics
  • business analytics
  • business information technology
  • business law
  • finance
  • human resource management
  • information management
  • international business
  • marketing
  • project management
  • strategic procurement
  • supply chain and logistics management.

Note: You will not need to pay any application fee but some of African countries will need to deposit of AU$100 application fee.

Academic background and requirement

2 year duration

You must have successfully completed an Australian Bachelor degree (or equivalent overseas qualification) or higher level qualification in any discipline from a recognised tertiary institution.

1.5 year duration

You must have successfully completed:

An Australian Bachelor degree, (or equivalent overseas qualification) or higher level qualification in a business (or related) discipline from a recognised tertiary institution completed within the last 10 years.

OR

An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent overseas qualification) in any discipline from a recognised tertiary institution completed within the last 10 years and a minimum of three years full-time equivalent management experience*.

OR

The RMIT Graduate Certificate of Commerce^.

* Applicants will be required to submit a curriculum vitae (CV).   

^Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate you will have the opportunity to progress to the Master degree.
