Overview

Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Business - Human Resource Management

The Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Business at the Swinburne University of Technology offers you a course focused on commercial law with an emphasis on intellectual property law.

As the only double degree in Victoria with this specialisation, you'll learn about trademarks, patents and designs, copyright, the prohibition of misleading or deceptive conduct and competition law.

Learn how to successfully manage the most valuable asset of any organisation – its people – and drive innovation and high performance in the workplace.

The Human Resource Management major focuses on successfully managing people, creating a productive working environment and building a positive workplace culture.

You will gain skills in core areas such as:

organisational behaviour, industrial relations, diversity and fostering an inclusive workplace, performance management and innovation, international HR management, employee health and wellbeing, data-driven decision making and evidence-based management

Real examples and strong industry input will prepare you for the many career opportunities in this large and growing employment area.

This Human Resource Management major is professionally accredited by the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI).

Work Integrated Learning is a guaranteed part of all Swinburne's bachelor's degrees.

In this double degree, you'll complete law-related professional experience placements at organisations in Australia or overseas.

You'll also be introduced to the practical aspects of legal practice through moot court scenarios and advocacy exercises.

And in the Industry Consulting Project (BUS30009), you’ll team up with other students to work on a real project briefed to you by an industry partner.
