Bachelor of Accounting

This program at Western Sydney University provides in-depth knowledge of accounting, supported by knowledge of associated disciplines of law, economics, finance and statistics.

The Bachelor of Accounting holds triple accreditation with CPA (Certified Public Accountant) Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (CAANZ), and the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA). 

Depending on your major, you’ll also be eligible to become a member of the Financial Planning Association or register with the Tax Practitioners Board as a tax agent.

You can choose one of the following majors after your study commences:

Work Integrated Learning

This program includes placement or other community-based unpaid practical experience.

Academic background and requirement

Year 12 HSC (or equivalent), or completed Diploma in Business at Western Sydney University, The College; or completed relevant TAFE award.

Assumed Knowledge: Mathematics and any two units of English. 

China:

  • Successful completion of Gao San with an 80% average in 3 years.

India: 

  • Indian Higher Secondary School Certificate (State Boards): Successful completion of Higher Secondary Certificate with a pass of 70% in the best 4 core subjects
  • All India School Certificate (CBSE): Successful completion of AISCE (CBSE) with an overall GPA of 60% in the best 4 core subjects
  • Indian School Certificate (ISC): Successful completion of ISCE with an overall GPA of 60% in the best 4 core subjects

Iran:

  • Successful completion of a recognised foundation studies program, 1 year of university studies or completion of a qualification equivalent to an Australian AQF Certificate IV
