Overview

Civil Engineering Technology, Diploma

Obtaining a Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology is one of the quickest paths to a rewarding and well-paying career

From the most remote village to the biggest cities, there is always a need for civil engineering – installing sewers, ensuring clean water, or supervising the construction of a major skyscraper.

Civil engineering technologists assist engineers in protecting human lives at the most basic level: water that doesn't carry disease, seismic upgrading, ensuring homes don't flood and building roads that are safe to drive on.

Camosun's hands-on program will give you real-world technical problem-solving abilities.

Your design and computer software abilities will be a desirable asset to you as you advance in the workforce.

You'll have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and industry connections through the College's Co-operative Education and Internship programs.

Graduates of the Civil Engineering Technology program are also eligible to apply for membership in Applied Science Technologists & Technicians of British Columbia (ASTTBC).

They may apply for registration as an applied science technologist after completing a minimum of two years of relevant work experience.

As this is an accredited program, graduates’ credentials are recognized through the Sydney Accord, enabling them to pursue careers all over the world.

Graduates may qualify to continue their studies in the Civil Engineering bridge program at Camosun College which allows transfer to the third year of the Civil Engineering degree program at the University of British Columbia - Vancouver and Okanagan campuses.
