Course code: #1033
Completing this three-year program at Conestoga College will allow students to obtain an Ontario College Advanced Diploma in financial planning.
The program will provide students with all of the educational requirements to challenge FP Canada's Qualified Associate Financial Planning Designation (QAFP).
Successful students will have the foundational knowledge to support their progress toward licensing examinations within Canada's securities, mutual funds, and insurance industries.
This progressive course of study combines courses designed at Conestoga with those originating from industry standard-setting organizations to prepare students for career opportunities in banking, insurance, private wealth, brokerage and/or independent practice.
Program graduates can apply directly to the third year of Conestoga College's Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) – Financial Services degree program and receive two years of credit towards the BCOMM degree program, provided they achieve a 70% overall average.
The Advanced Diploma Program continues to offer FP Canada an advanced curriculum but does not satisfy the degree requirement necessary to obtain the CFP Designation (effective January 2020).
