Diploma in Tourism - Travel

This program at St. Clair College will help develop skills employers are looking for in a new employee, such as communication, teamwork, computer, and customer service skills. 

Graduates are prepared to begin entry-level positions in a number of the travel industry sectors.

Program Highlights

  • Students have the opportunity to gain valuable experience and school credits while living, working, and attending classes at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
  • Graduates have the opportunity to obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Travel and Tourism Management in Ireland by completing 2 semesters abroad.
  • Optional yearly field trip abroad (past trips include Mexico, the Caribbean, Cruises, and Europe).
  • Previous mid-semester work placement locations have included Western and Eastern Canada, Europe, Thailand, South Africa, Costa Rica, Australia, and India, among others.
  • Student Work Experience Program recruitment opportunities exist with Fairmont Hotels and Resorts located in Western Canada.
  • Tourism Photography gives students the opportunity to create travel brochures using their own photographs.
  • The TICO exam is administered as part of the program.

Applicants who do not have the minimum TOEFL or IELTS score will be required to write the English Proficiency Test (CanTEST) after arrival at the College. 

Students who do not pass the CanTEST will need to register in the St. Clair College English as an English for Academic Purpose (EAP) program prior to entering post-secondary programs.
